I believe “Mental illness is not a choice, but recovery is.” I am a licensed social worker and received my master’s degree in social work from Aurora University. I began my career working as a group facilitator for the National Alliance for the Mentally ILL (NAMI). I am trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid and have experience working with adolescents and adults. I am passionate about working with those in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) community, and my areas of interest include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, life transitions, infertility support, and other emotional and behavioral issues.
I use a client-centered approach, psychoeducation, and modeling to assist my clients in achieving optimal well-being. I listen with compassion while helping them to identify and overcome barriers that impede change.
I speak English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. In my free time, l enjoy walking, cycling, traveling, doing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
