One of the barriers to getting help is often shame. We may feel that we shouldn’t talk about our problems or should figure things out on our own, believing our issues “aren’t that bad.” This hinders our growth potential by making us feel undeserving. Life has many unexpected challenges, and we aren’t hard-wired to know how to cope with them all – especially not alone. I am here to tell you that you are worthy of the time devoted to your mental health and feeling better. My goal is to help you find a new sense of hope and confidence to better navigate life and to push past your limits.
My approach to therapy is collaborative; I work alongside clients to help them understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to foster self-awareness and meaningful change. My theoretical modality is person centered, meaning I provide a nonjudgemental, empathetic space for you to feel heard and supported. I also draw from other modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, blending these to meet your unique needs.
I graduated from National Louis University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My experience includes working with adults in a PHP/IOP setting and individual Therapy.
