Just as the seasons change, so can the joys and struggles of life.  Creating a safe judgement-free zone to explore the challenges of life is essential to the counseling experience for each person.  Many times we face difficult times that pull us from our family and friends such as periods of depression and anxiety. Counseling can help re-claim your confidence, reduce distress, while getting your life back.

Many problem drinkers don’t seek help because they don’t feel they fit the stereotype of an alcoholic.  A whole spectrum of drinking problems exists. Often times life and relationships are impacted by each type of problem.  Given the severity of the problem, I use harm reduction techniques to assist in a reduction of drinking/drug use to healthier levels or support you on your path to abstinence.   Uncovering new coping strategies and dimensions of you are part of the process.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned a Master’s Degree from Aurora University with a specialization in addictions counseling.  Also, I work at Edward Hospital providing post acute planning for hospitalized patients.
